Its Raining Again...*SIGH* Kinda makes me wanna crawl up in bed and pull the covers over my head. I used to love the rain when I was younger. Especially the summer rains, so warm and comforting, kicking up the water outta puddles. Now rainy days drag me down. I am trying to focus on my crafting and my exercise which is not going well ( I cant get back into the grove)
For my crafting this past week or 2 I decided to use my stash and make a stash buster blanket, of course I started making a baby blanket and thought I had enuff to do one....UMM UMMM. I had to go out and "BUY" more white and navy, and of course after that I found I had another skein of navy in my stash pile. *SIGH*
The blanket I am making is for a woman I work with. I volunteer 2 days a week in the kitchen at skool and Donna the aide in charge, her youngest is having her first child ( Donna is already a gramma), so I decided to surprise her with a blanket. It is done in *V* and *Shell* stitches. I also plan to make her booties. I am really liking this stitch. I found it online and I can really get into my Zen mode with it. I just let my fingers fly. I basically have it finished, just need to finish one round of white and navy, then it is weave in the ends and do a border. I don't like blankets without borders.

I also need to make a Mokume Gane bracelet for the skool finance officer. She saw one I made at the harvest fest but didn't buy it right away. When she returned it was sold. I decided to make her one for Christmas ( since she does not ride me too much about tuition when I fall behind).
Finally I got a request for some custom earrings. I need to get back to the craft store since I don't have the colors she wants ( earth tones). I also want to look at what I can make for my kids for Christmas. One good thing about making Jewelry is I can always rely on my stash for something for them esp. when cash is low. ( which seems to be all the time).

Rain Rain Go Away
It has been raining what seems like forever. Yesterday was so dark. It was dreary and grey and really brought me down. I took to the couch ( or my bed, one and the same) a few times.
I tried to take pictures of more of my stuff to list on Etsy but I didn't like how they turned out. My trees need to photographed in natural light, the yellow indoor lights mutes the beauty of the beads and wire.
I was hoping today would bring more sun but it doesn't appear that way, besides my daughter grabbed her camera on the way out the door to skool this morning.
Speaking of rain we had the loudest Thunderstorm around 6 am this morning. Woke me up. *Not Happy*
Anyway, I have just been crafterbating again, checking out what's on the web. Ya know I am all for repurposing ( I hate the throw away mentality society has acquired) and NO I dont ascribe to the Global warming theory, but do agree we need to repurpose and cut back on waste as well as eating healthy and organically.
I love browsing websites, just surfing from one link to the next, however....Have you ever seen some things created or repurposed where by you go..."Just Because You can, Does NOT mean You Should!" I have. From Condom dresses, to Toilet paper wedding gowns and even t-shirts made into girls dresses.
Some things should never be attempted. I realize that some of these are art challenges ( ala project runway - NO I don't watch that show, thanx) But still, IN the vein of cutting back and sustainability you go out and buy up 3 gross of toilet paper to make dresses? HMMMM
I don't really consider that saving anything. Oh and YEA you can wear these dress, so they say..What happens if it rains? Wanna see more TP designs? CLICK ME!
Oh and the condoms? I hope they weren't USED UGH! YUCK!

Etsy Updated!
I spent Saturday Updating my shop. I still have lots more to put in there but Have some things now, at least it dont look so empty.
So I have not been hanging on FB, although I popped in there sat for a few minutes, I still have NOT gotten the courage to delete my account. I noticed they put the recent news button back on the wall ( one of the things that was irking me) but all in all I think not being there is for the best. I would just get angry over the news pieces posted, or get bored with all the mindless comments from ppl who seemed to want to post just to hear / see themselves, as if needing to reassure themselves that they were still alive.....HAHA... I like the freedom that comes with sitting on the couch watching tv....no scratch that, reading a good book. YEA I finished a book this morning , first time on 20 yrs I actually read a book from cover to cover and loved it and looked forward to more. The book was called Critical Care, by Candace Calvert. I am planning on getting the other 2 books in this series she has out now.
What else? I am back trying to stick to my eating plan again. So far so good. I need to Remember If I am ever gonna get thin, feel good about myself, bring my blood sugar down It is UP TO ME! No one is gonna do it for me, NOBODY CAN, and taking drugs for my sugar is just a crutch to keep eating garbage! I brought my sugar done before with diet and exercise I CAN DO IT AGAIN!

Once again I return Home
I admit it I got sucked into FB and lost my drive or I lost my drive and got sucked into Fb? Whatever. I am breaking the FB habit thanx to... FACEBOOK~! they have changed the layout one time too many for me....I don't need to keep having a breakdown everytime Marc Zuckerberg and his team get bored and decide to change things including my privacy settings!
SO I am back to my first love...MY BLOGS!
I recently did my first showing, Harvest Fest at my skool. I think it went over well. Alot of People liked my trees but few bought them. My soda can earrings were a hit and ppl remarked at my vinyl record bowls. I sold a couple of those. Everyone Loved my shopping bag bags that i crocheted from other supermarket bags. I was also told I underappreciate myself for selling them so cheap...$ 5.00. Maybe so but I see them offered on the web for 30.00 and more and cant see spending that much...In fact I see a lot of recycled and upcycled products GROSSLY overpriced. That makes me sad. Are you in it for the money or the purpose? The fact is, these bags cost me nothing but my time and labor. Maybe I will charge 10.00 next time and see how well they sell.
I also picked up a request to help stock the consignment shop at another church as soon as they get it open....YEA GO ME!
This experience brought me back around to my creative side. Got me thinking about what I can do next and I reopened my Shop on Etsy! I am in process of restocking this weekend.
I need to refocus myself and center myself again. I need to go back to my eating plan and work on loosing this weight again. I thought quitting smoking was bad but this is one heckuva challenge and I don't know why.
So that is it for this weekend. I am going to restock my shop now.
It is GOOD to be Home.
